CNU, New Projects in Senegal: Schools, Youth, Community and Local Entrepreneurship

The Confederation of Humanitarian Nations is launching a new phase of activities through Ente Umanitario Tallarita Harry, with the support of Ente Cavilli. The focus will be on education, training, territorial cooperation and community development.

The Confederation of Humanitarian Nations – CNU is launching a new phase of project development in Senegal through the action of its confederated entity, Ente Umanitario Tallarita Harry, with the support of Ente Cavilli.

This path is based on a simple and concrete vision: creating networks, bringing skills together, connecting territories and transforming human relationships into operational opportunities for local communities.

CNU operates worldwide also through its confederated entities, territorial representatives and local missions. In Senegal, this work is beginning to take shape through several project areas, all sharing one common objective: supporting education, social growth, youth participation and human development.

School Twinning Between Senegal and Italy

One of the first areas of work concerns the possibility of promoting school twinning projects and cultural exchanges between Senegalese schools and Italian schools.

The goal is to encourage dialogue between students, teachers and educational communities, creating opportunities for discussion on culture, mutual respect, global citizenship, solidarity and human rights.

Through letters, online meetings, shared activities and possible common educational paths, schools can become a bridge between different countries, generations and communities.

Availability of Land for Future Schools

A second project concerns the possibility of opening institutional dialogue with local Senegalese administrations in order to assess the availability of land that could, in the future, be used for the construction of schools for young people.

A possible formal letter of openness or availability from local authorities would allow CNU and its confederated entities to move forward in a more structured way, presenting the project to companies, businesses, technicians and other parties potentially interested in contributing.

Any future development will naturally depend on formal documentation, territorial assessments, operational conditions and the concrete sustainability of the project.

HRD Training for Young Athletes

Alongside the school sector, CNU also intends to develop a third path involving a youth football team.

The idea is to offer a training and awareness course in the field of HRD – Human Rights Defenders, addressed to young people who are willing and motivated to make a positive contribution to their community.

In this vision, sport is not merely physical activity. It is discipline, respect, responsibility, team spirit and service. For this reason, it can become a valuable educational tool to help young people become more aware, more attentive to the needs of their territory and more willing to serve others.

Women, Local Entrepreneurship and Manufacturing Skills

A fourth project will focus on supporting a network of women engaged in local entrepreneurship.

The aim will be to accompany community growth through craft, manufacturing and organizational skills, enhancing the role of women in the economic and social development of the territory.

In many local contexts, women’s networks are a concrete force: they support one another, share skills, generate micro-economies, transmit knowledge and build autonomy. CNU intends to observe, support and enhance these energies, while respecting local identities and the real needs of the communities involved.

Unity Is Strength

The support of Ente Cavilli confirms a fundamental direction: no serious humanitarian project can be built in isolation.

Cooperation is born from the encounter between different actors: entities, territorial missions, schools, administrations, companies, professionals, volunteers, local communities and people willing to place their skills at the service of a common goal.

This is the direction in which CNU intends to operate: not by replacing local territories, but by connecting skills, needs and possibilities.

These first projects in Senegal represent a concrete example of how the Confederation of Humanitarian Nations can operate worldwide through a living network made up of confederated entities, local representatives and operational collaborations.

Further official updates will follow regarding the development of the individual projects, any institutional formalizations and the ways in which it will be possible to participate in or support the initiatives.
